I’m incredibly honored to share some exciting news from this year’s competition season.
One of my wedding images—titled “Tony, hell of a guy, but still a jackass”—has received top recognition at both the state and national level.
At the 2026 Image Competition, this image achieved the highest score of any wedding photograph submitted and was awarded the prestigious Court of Honor for Best Wedding Image.
This is an honor that represents not just technical excellence, but storytelling, timing, and emotional impact—everything I strive to bring to every wedding I photograph.
Following its success at the state level, I submitted the image to the national stage through the 2026 Merit Image Review with the Professional Photographers of America.
I’m proud to share that it received Imaging Excellence, one of the highest distinctions awarded in PPA’s evaluation process.
This image captures what I love most about weddings—not just the moments that happen, but the ones you help bring to life.
I set the stage. Then I let it unfold.
The groom and his crew gathered around a poker table, and from there, everything became real. The energy, the laughter, the camaraderie—it took on a life of its own. What started as direction quickly turned into something authentic, something unmistakably them.
That’s the difference.
The best images aren’t purely candid, and they’re not overly staged. They live in that space in between—where intention meets personality, and real moments take over.
And sometimes, the perfect image isn’t about perfection—it’s about truth, humor, and connection.
Yes… the title says it all. And if you know Tony, you know it’s said with love.
Awards are meaningful—not just as recognition, but as validation of a philosophy:
This image is exactly the kind of work I aim to create for every couple I work with—images that feel alive years later.
To my clients who trust me to capture their stories, to my peers who continue to inspire me, and to the organizations that support excellence in our craft, thank you.
And Tony…
He is the Donkey in the painting on the wall, but he is a hell of a guy 😉
If you’re planning a wedding and want photography that captures real moments with impact, let’s talk.
